Terms and Conditions

Louisa Franks Psychology Tutoring

Last updated: May 2026

Please read these terms carefully before making a booking. By booking a session you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

Payments & Booking

All sessions must be paid in full at the time of booking to secure your appointment. Payments are processed securely via Stripe and will be returned to your original payment method in the event of a refund.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

More than 12 hours' notice: You may cancel or rearrange your appointment free of charge. Please contact me directly to arrange this and your refund will be processed promptly.

Less than 12 hours' notice: A refund of 50% will be issued. The remaining 50% is retained to cover the reserved time.

No-shows: If you do not attend your session and have not made contact, no refund will be issued.

My right to cancel: If I need to cancel or rearrange a session, I will give as much notice as possible. If I cancel with less than 12 hours' notice, a full refund will be issued, and you will be given priority when rescheduling.

Late Arrivals

Sessions begin at the scheduled time. If you arrive late I will do my best to extend the session by up to 10 minutes where my schedule allows, but this cannot be guaranteed. Sessions will not run beyond 10 minutes over the scheduled end time under any circumstances.

Block Booking

Block bookings are offered at a discounted rate: 5 sessions at 5% off, or 10 sessions at 10% off. If you wish to cancel remaining sessions within a block, a refund will be issued for the unused sessions. Please note that the block booking discount will be removed or adjusted based on the number of sessions actually taken:

  • If you have taken fewer than 5 sessions, the full rate of £65 per session applies.
  • If you have taken 5–9 sessions, the 5-session discount rate applies to all sessions taken.

Refunds will be calculated accordingly and returned to your original payment method.

How Sessions Are Delivered

All tutoring and advice sessions are conducted online via video call using Zoho Meeting. No in-person sessions are available.

Zoho Meeting is a free platform. You can join via a browser (please note that Safari is not currently supported) or by downloading the free Zoho Meeting app, available for Apple and Android devices.

Meeting notes will be made available to you after each session. If you have the Zoho app you can access these directly. If you would prefer them sent by email, please just ask.

Recording of Sessions

Sessions will not be recorded without prior consent from the parent or guardian (and student, where appropriate). If a recording is requested, it will be shared with the parent and/or student and then deleted from my end. No recordings will be retained by me or shared with any third party.

Safeguarding

I hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate, which is kept up to date. The following measures are in place for all sessions:

  • My camera will be on at all times during sessions
  • No other person will be present in my workspace or able to view my screen
  • Students are encouraged to have their camera on and focused on their face, as this supports communication, though this is not mandatory
  • Sessions will not be recorded without prior written consent

Students & Parental Responsibility

Most students are aged 16–18. Bookings may be made by a parent or guardian on behalf of the student. The parent or guardian is responsible for ensuring the student is aware of the session time, is punctual, and joins the call ready to engage. By making a booking, the parent or guardian confirms they have discussed the session with the student.

Confidentiality

All information shared during sessions — whether personal, academic, or otherwise — is treated in strict confidence. Session content will not be discussed with or shared with any third party without your consent.

However, there are circumstances in which I have a professional and legal duty to act on information disclosed to me. These include situations where I have reason to believe that a student or another person may be at risk of harm, or where a disclosure is made that falls within the scope of the Prevent duty — the UK government's strategy for safeguarding individuals from radicalisation and extremism. In such cases I am obligated to report my concerns to the appropriate person or authority, which may include a parent or guardian, and I may not be able to inform you before doing so.

My safeguarding training is current and regularly updated, and I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
